No sewing weather…

It’s been terribly hot, sticky, and all.

Some people love it, I belong to those who does not really enjoy it….(Unless I were at the beach….)

A bit cooler would be just fine, I would sleep better, my brain would work better….

Quilting in the morning, while it was not so hot,

I got both minis finished,

happy!

Warm and cool

I’ve got some patterns as presents and I’ve also bought some patterns for mini quilts, though I know that “mini” does not always mean you can get it done in a jiffy.

Here are some I’d like to make:

And then I started!

Red, orange, and yellow pallet for the mini Firelight Lane.

Little tiny blocks, 2” X 2”,

and growing,

row by row,

The little top is sewn,

Then….

I started another one,

a paper piecing one,

pattern from quietplay.blogspot.com.au

Yes, this one was not among my first choices!

But it just caught my eyes…

Peacefully swimming,

in a blue sea.

And the next step,

definitely quilting both!

Have a lovely and creative week!

Another tick off

The binding is sewn, it is washed, it smells fresh and it feels  cuddly, and the best of all, it’s FINISHED!! What a good feeling.

This top was made a while ago, it’s a pattern called Diamond Double, CozyQuilt Designs, a nice one to sew. I used  the rest of some batik Jelly Roll  I had, and that is what I was a bit worried about. I always pre-wash my fabrics, but that’s not possible with strips. What about the dark blues and turquoise? Are these color-fast? To minimize riscs I used these tissues that absorb color, no idea how it works, but i works like magic!

Have a lovely time sewing!
